Change to December’s book

Sorry to muck you all about, but we’re going to change December’s book to ‘A Spool of Blue Thread’ by Anne Tyler.  This is because ‘Wolf Winter’ by Celia Ekbert isn’t out in paperback until mid-November, making things a bit tight.  So we’re going to read ‘Wolf Winter’ over the chilly, dark nights of Christmas and New Year and discuss it when we meet on January 5th.  I know you’ll enjoy it.  Wrap up warm.

November book group – special guest

Our book for November is the excellent and thought-provoking ‘Off the Map’ by Professor Alastair Bonnett of Newcastle University, and he’s generously agreed to come and talk about the book. We’re meeting as usual at The Carriage Pub in Jesmond at 6.30pm, but any members of the lunchtime group are warmly invited to join us too.

As someone who gets lost all the time, and secretly doesn’t mind too much, it’s a book that’s right up my street.
