New book for November

So sorry to muck the group about, but we’ve hit a major snag trying to trace an audio book of November’s novel, Toby’s Room, for one of our members, so we’re going to change the book to Regeneration, also by Pat Barker. But we want to be fair to everyone, and realise that many of you have already bought and read Toby’s Room so we’re going to weave in a discussion of both books at the next meeting on 5 November. The two novels, although concerned with a similar time period, are written 20 years apart and, for my part, I haven’t read Regeneration since it was first published so it will be interesting to see if opinions have changed.

But as usual with our book group, don’t worry if you haven’t read either of the books, as what we’re really about is a get together over a glass of something warming, a blazing fire, stimulating company and an excellent book (or in this case, two excellent books).

See you on bonfire night for our own verbal firework display.
